Winner announced!! (And a Mini-Contest!)

We have a winner for the FABulous books by Michele Bardsley! So if your name is:

NATHALIE

you need to send us an e-mail with your address, so we can get those books mailed out to you. Please send the e-mail to deeanddeedish AT sbcglobal DOT net (remember to take out the spaces!). Please be sure to put "FAB WINNER" in the subject line of your e-mail, so we can easily identify it.

Also, we'll have a new contest posted very soon. Chari-Dee has been reading lots of books lately, and keeping you guys updated on them. *I* have only read ONE book in the past few weeks. That's right. I said ONE book. I've been on a "Book Diet", in order to finish my own book lately. But that one book? OhMyBob, it's just FABulous. And we are BOTH going to Dish it this week.

And let me ask a question here, ok? This is just a little mini-contest that I'm running on the side, so you all feel free to enter as many times as you want. If you only had ONE book to read for a month, which book would it be? Tell me which book you'd pick, and why. I'll pick THREE winners at random, and I'll send you a copy of the book that has been keeping me from going through massive word-withdrawal. It's just that good.

This mini-contest will run until Friday, so enter as often as you wish. Each entry counts separate, so don't feel you have to put all of your faves in one comment. But really, the point is to find out which ONE book you really would enjoy reading if it was all you were allowed to read for THIRTY DAYS.

Also, please be sure to send get well wishes to Chari-Dee's son, Bear. The little guy isn't feeling so well, and needs some extra love these days. Feel better soon, kiddo. Your Aunt dee in VA is sending you BIG HUGS!!

Keep Turning Those Pages!

The long Walk Home by Will North is beautiful and memorable. I would have to keep that by my side.

Oh, this one is easy (at least for me). I could read Welcome to Temptation over and over. It is my book version of comfort food and I laugh every single time I read it.
Lori.
PS: I hope Bear feels better soon.

I'd have to go with The THREE FATES by Nora Roberts. Love that book!!

Hope Bear's feeling better soon!

Bet Me by Jenny C. Nothing picks me up quicker than that book. I love everything about it.

I also really loved Fast Women by Jenny C. I have re-read it many times and find new layers/details each time.

I hope Bear feels better very soon!

Now that I'm thinking about my favorite Jennifer Crusie books, I think I'd choose Anyone But You by Jenny for my book. :)

Well, maybe I'd choose Bet Me instead. This is so hard! The pressure lol.

Great responses, everyone!

I happen to LOVE Jenny Crusie, as if you didn't already know that, right?

Out of her books, I'm with Lori on her first pick. I've read and re-read WTT so many times, I've had to re-buy it. And that was just my reading copy, not the signed paperback, or the signed first edition hardback.

Bet Me is also a favorite. Of course, I don't know that I've ever met a Jenny book I didn't love.

I'm adding these others that have been mentioned to my reading list. Thanks for the suggestions!

You know, another book I would pick would be Ain't She Sweet? by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I love that book!

Just ONE book? Argh! It can't be done!
Maybe....Carnal Innocence by Nora Roberts. That's my comfort food, I had to buy a new one because I read the first copy to death.

After pondering this dilemma I decided upon Dragonflies and Dinosaurs by Kate Austin.I cannot forget this beautiful novel.

That's a difficult choice...there are so many.

Almost any book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips would be my first choice.

Another favorite is Rachel Gibson's See Jane Score. That book just cracks me up, plus the "good" parts are REALLY good :-).

Ohhh, I just LOVE to read AINT SHE SWEET! Of course, just about anything by SEP ranks right up near the top. In my 'special' bookshelf in my bedroom, I have stacks of all my faves, from Jenny to Judith McNaught, and a stack of everything by SEP. Those ones are all close so that I can snag one on my way to bed, slip under the covers, and fall right into a place I know will be wonderful - bookland!

You guys have some really great picks here!

Another favorite is Match Me If You Can by SEP (actually any of the Chicago Stars books works for me too).

Hi (me again),
I just remembered a book that I love. The Princess Bride by William Goldman. I love the book almost as much as the movie (you know...Hallo, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die. Although it sounds better when said by him with the accent :-).
Lori.

I've tried, Bob knows I've tried, but I just can't do it! I can narrow it down, though.

Jenny's Faking It.

Agnes and the Hitman has stood up well to a few rereads just lately.

JAK's Absolutely Positively

SEP's Natural Born Charmer

NR's Three Fates

Clancy's Hunt For Red October

King's The Stand

Uh, I think I'd better stop 'narrowing it down' while I'm ahead.
